Astronaut’s Shocking Revelation: Aliens Thwarted US-Russia Nuclear War
Former NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell, known for his role in the Apollo 14 mission and as the sixth person to walk on the Moon, has claimed that extraterrestrial forces have acted to prevent nuclear conflict between the U.S. and Russia. Mitchell revealed that military personnel have observed unidentified flying objects (UFOs) during key weapons tests and around pivotal missile sites, including New Mexico’s White Sands – the site of the first nuclear bomb detonation in 1945.

Mitchell, a native of New Mexico, which is also near the famed Roswell UFO incident site, emphasized his familiarity with the area in a 2015 discussion with Mirror Online. He explained that the extraterrestrials seemed particularly interested in human military capabilities and nuclear weapons testing grounds.
Throughout his post-NASA years, Mitchell became an influential figure in UFO enthusiast circles, advocating for the notion that aliens are promoting peace to prevent human conflicts. He shared anecdotes from Air Force officers who observed UFOs disabling or interfering with military hardware during the Cold War, and recounted tales from others who witnessed test missiles being neutralized by what they believed were alien crafts.
Nick Pope, a former Ministry of Defence UFO analyst, commented on Mitchell’s assertions. While acknowledging Mitchell’s integrity and his unique access to high-level military and intelligence contacts, Pope noted the challenges in verifying the second-hand accounts provided to Mitchell. Pope suggested that while the idea of peace-promoting extraterrestrials aligns with New Age interpretations of UFO sightings, some sightings might be more mundanely explained by espionage activities, such as reconnaissance involving secret aircraft or drones.
Pope also reflected on the broader implications of such extraterrestrial visits, questioning the likelihood that beings capable of such interventions would only slightly advance beyond current human technology. Given the universe’s vast age, any visiting civilization would likely possess capabilities far beyond human comprehension, capable of actions far beyond mere interference in human weaponry tests.
